Is steam good for my pores?

I just got done washing my face and thought it would be nice to steam them before I washed. I heard that it%26#039;s good for your pores but how good?

Doesn%26#039;t it effect your skin in some way? Also what%26#039;s the best time to %26#039;let them steam%26#039;? I did mine for about 4-5 minutes is that good or should I go longer/less time then that?|||Steam softens your skin and makes your skin more porous (sponge-like). It depends on the sensitivity of your skin. If you%26#039;re fair, then you should only steam for a few minutes tops! If you%26#039;re dark-skinned, then you can handle a little more steam.

Make sure that you use a good moisturizer after you cleanse your skin. Steam will dry your skin out if you don%26#039;t moisturize. Also, make sure that you use a gentle exfoliant a couple times a week to hep your skin slough off the dead skin cells. Then you can apply your moisturizer. Buy skin care products from a professional - either an Aesthetician or a Dermatologist. Products from the drug store are cheap with a lot of %26quot;filler%26quot; ingredients that will clog your pores.|||it opens your pores and allows the skin to %26quot;sweat%26quot; out the bad stuff... although it as best to wash your face after steaming, you can create an all natural anti-septic/ anti-bacterial steam using Tea Tree and Eucalyptus Essential Oils, and they will actually cleanse and detox your pores.

this will also help keep your pores evenly shaped and your oil balanced.

you can get the oils at any Nugget, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Lazy acres, or Co-op.

Hope it helps! |||Steam opens up your pores.

The best idea would be to put your face in steam to open up the pores, and THEN cleanse, and then steam again at the end and apply an astringent or toner.

4-5 minutes sounds about good. |||yes it%26#039;s good. it opens up your pores, so if you have acne you can squeeze all that pus out.|||Steaming is good for your skin! It opens your pores and get%26#039;s rid of toxins. It is good to steam before your cleanse your face but rinse your face first. 5 minutes is good for those with acne and 10 minutes is good for any other skin. I like to steam with lavender, green tea or peppermint. You can purchase these organic herbs. here:
